No camera

No Camera = No Pictures.

The camera is taking a nice vacation in sunny Kenya, Africa with Micah until 12/15.  Till then?

life is good

Years ago, I started finding old images of my mother. In boxes, in albums, in big wooden chests. I feel like they are something I should keep to myself, but I had to share a few. What a beautiful woman she is. I hope my kids hearts will feel warm and loved when they look back at my life like this.

the shop

constantly working and re-working the shop's website (blue toad) and still i'm never happy with it. the truth is that i now hate squarespace. regardless, we were in desperate need of images on the site- here's a sneak peek of some shots that i took around the store. working on incorporating them in.

Wedding Shoot

The last wedding of the season. This was one of my favorites to put together | and to shoot. Kate and I were happy ( & tired) girls at the end of the day.

I feel it my fingers. I feel it in my toes.

Lately I've been feeling a push to keep my blog updated. Though I have very little time to post and update, I feel like I have a lot to say and show you, so I'm going to try my best.

To sum things up, Micah and I are engaged, our wedding is in August, we are moving (have moved?) into a barn where our only roommates, {or as someone pointed out... nay-bors... but it wasn't my joke!} are 3 beautiful horses and a barn cat named Caleb. The land that our barn is on is almost 100 acres, but the surrounding property is over 2,000 acres of preserved forest and more than that of rolling pastures full of cows. We live off a dirt road on a mountain and have now passed (multiple times) a mysterious couple- the man of which Micah insists is the guy from Weekend at Bernies... riding in a horse drawn carriage from the 1800's, dressed as such. This leads us to believe that you pass through a time warp somewhere along the way. We have spent the past two weeks repainting and cleaning a beautiful home, and exploring the vastness that surrounds us.

After our honeymoon (we're going to the island that Jurassic Park was filmed on, FYI) we're going to try to start doing what we love to do... and get paid for it. We're taking on O'L!HDAYD!* as a team. We're both full of ideas and excitement for what the future will bring, and hope that we can make some great art together. (*Oh, Lord! How Deep Are Your Designs!)

I'd like to tell you more about what we'll be up to in the not so distant future, but for now take a look at these pictures from a walk I took alone this morning. I noticed an old sugar shack on our land hidden in some very tall grass and decided to take a look inside. Someone was clearly staying here at one point, but hasn't for some time now. It's seemingly been left for the skunks! (Seriously... the skunks must have sprayed every inch of that place.) What do you do when you find something like this on your land?
